Our upbringing creates our stories. Our experiences and relationships shape our lives. We do not always get to choose our past, but, if you are feeling alone and lost on your life path, I want to be there to support and work collaboratively with you to take steps towards the life you want to live. One that is aligned with your values, beliefs, and goals as well as finding others that share those with you.
I am a gay, cisgender, male of colour (he/him). I am second generation from an immigrant family. I am a trauma-informed student counsellor who has experience working with young adults, children, LGBTQ+, non-traditional relationship structures (polyamory), BIPOC, children of immigrants, depression, anxiety, addictions, and homelessness.
I work collaboratively with the knowledge and experiences that you already possess which means you will be a part of shaping the session so we can figure out what works best for you. My main approach includes working with your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs through methods such as mindfulness, CBT skills, parts work, art, and breathing exercises. I believe that our emotions can be powerful cues as to what we need, as well as, imposing blocks to getting what we need. My hope is that through our work together you will find skills to work with your emotions to create the life you want to live.
